2018 Tryon Fall Series presented by Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport to Showcase Top FEI Competition and include CSI 5* at TIECÂ

Mill Spring, NC – September 20, 2018 – The 2018 Tryon Fall Series presented by Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP), one of the most competitive competition series of the fall calendar,Â will begin on Wednesday, October 3, and continue through Sunday, October 28Â at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) in Mill Spring, North Carolina.
Throughout the four weeks of FEI competition, TIEC will play host to the highly sought-after “Saturday Night Lights” on Saturday evenings, offering free family entertainment and fun during world renowned Grand Prix jumping competition. Carousel rides, face painting, and an array of live entertainers will surround Legends Plaza during the evening beginning at 5:00 p.m. with competition starting at 7:00 p.m.Â “Saturday Night Lights” will kick-off on October 6, and continue every Saturday through October 27. Onsite dining at multiple restaurants is also available.
The 2018 Tryon Fall Series presented by GSP Airport will begin on Wednesday, October 3, featuring CSI 2* jumper opportunities and USEF “AA” rated hunter competition during Tryon Fall II (October 3-7). The week will showcase a FEI $5,000 1.40m Power and Speed CSI 2*, FEI $5,000 1.40m Speed Stake CSI 2*, $5,000 1.30m Junior/Amateur Classic, $10,000 1.40m Junior/Amateur Classic,Â $35,000 1.50m Welcome Stake CSI 2*, $35,000 1.45m Sunday Classic CSI 2*, and the highlight “Saturday Night Lights” $70,000 Ingles Grand Prix CSI 2*. A $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby will also accompany FEI competition for the week.Â The Developing Jumper Series will run in conjunction with CSI 2* competition throughout the week.
Tryon Fall III (October 10-14) will continue delivering FEI competition, hosting the first CSI 3* of the fall season, along with USEF “AA” rated competition and the addition of the Carolinas’ Challenge Cup. The week will host a $5,000 1.40m Power and Speed CSI 3*, $5,000 1.40m Speed Stake CSI 3*, $5,000 1.30m Junior/Amateur Classic, $10,000 1.40m Junior/Amateur Classic, $35,000 1.50m Welcome Stake CSI 3*, $35,000 1.45m Sunday Classic CSI 3*, and the second “Saturday Night Lights” of the fall series boasting the $132,000 AdequanÂ® Grand Prix CSI 3*. The Developing Jumper Series will a run alongside competition throughout the week, along with the Ultimate Air Dogs competition presented by Ingles.
The only FEI CSI 5* of the year at TIEC will be welcomed to the venue during Tryon Fall IV (October 17-21). The week will begin with a $35,000 1.40m Power and Speed CSI 5* ahead of the $132,000 Welcome Stake CSI 5*. Another $35,000 1.45m Speed Stake CSI 5* will be offered, alongside a $70,000 1.50m Sunday Classic CSI 5*, a $10,000 1.40m Junior/Amateur Classic, and a $5,000 1.30m Junior/Amateur Classic. The largest Grand Prix of the season, the $384,000 Rolex Grand Prix CSI 5*, is set to bring top international riders from around the globe to TIEC for the monumental occasion. The week will also offer a $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby for hunter competitors traveling to the venue for the Series. The Developing Jumper Series will also run in conjunction with competition throughout the week.
The final week of the series, Tryon Fall V presented by Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (October 24-28), will feature the final FEI CSI 3* competition of the 2018 calendar year at the venue. During the week, TIEC will host a series of Halloween-themed activities such as trick-or-treating, a costume contest, and a stall decorating contest. This final week of “AA” rated hunter competition and USEF Level 6 jumper classes will accompany the international classes hosted during the week. A $35,000 1.40m Power and Speed CSI 3* will kick-off the week-long competition ahead of a $35,000 1.50m Welcome Stake CSI 3*. Another $35,000 1.45m Speed Stake CSI 3* will be offered, as well as a $10,000 1.40m Junior/Amateur Classic, a $5,000 1.30m Junior/Amateur Classic, and a $25,000 National Grand Prix. The week will conclude with the final Halloween-themed “Saturday Night Lights” of the season, featuring the $132,000 Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport Grand Prix CSI 3*. A $25,000 Hunter Showcase and the The Developing Jumper Series will conclude Fall Series competition.
Along with the four weeks of highly anticipated FEI competition, the Ultimate Air Dogs competition, presented by Ingles will be returning to the facility, as well as the very popular American Hobby Horse Series. The American Hobby Horse Series will run concurrently to the “Saturday Night Lights” schedule beginning on October 6 and conclude with the championships on October 27.
