“Saturday Night Lights” & Grand Prix Show Jumping
TIEC’s signature “Saturday Night Lights” series continues every Saturday through October 28 featuring free family-friendly entertainment like pony rides, face painting, live music and carousel rides. Each “Saturday Night Lights” is coupled with a Grand Prix show jumping competition. Four weeks of equestrian competition at TIEC include CSI 2*, CSI 3* and CSI 5* Grand Prix classes, showcasing the world’s top show jumping horse and rider combinations. Come cheer on your favorites as they sail over the jumps under the Tryon Stadium lights. Activities begin at 5 p.m. and the competition starts at 7 p.m.
American Hobby Horse Fall Series
Tryon Resort’s popular American Hobby Horse Series returns this fall every Saturday in October. Hobby Horsing is a fun, affordable and safe way for kids 14 and under to experience horsey competition. Free to all participants and with multiple age groups available, a hobby horse is the only thing that’s required for a great time! Participants must register in advance. Fall Fest at Tryon Resort will feature its popular costume contest and trick-or-treating tradition along Vendor Row for kids of all ages, with prizes given across multiple costume categories ahead of the evening’s Grand Prix competition on Saturday, October 27. For TIEC competitors, the week will also feature the addition of a stall decorating competition.
On Thanksgiving Day, Tryon Resort is serving up a delicious holiday buffet from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. featuring carved turkey and ham, traditional sides, specialty items and delectable desserts. Come for the feast, or better yet, trade a messy kitchen at home for a relaxing Thanksgiving weekend in one of Tryon Resort’s three or five-bedroom riverside cabins. One bedroom cabins are also available for those looking for a more intimate escape. Tryon Resort’s Lodge on Lake Lure is also offering a Thanksgiving buffet at its Treetops Restaurant overlooking scenic Lake Lure.
